   I consult throughout Los Angeles County on a wide range of topics related to plants, trees, landscapes, and sustainability, including arborist consulting and diagnosing tree problems, horticulturist consulting and diagnosing plant problems, irrigation design and troubleshooting, transition to ecological design, soil problems, permaculture, rainwater collection and greywater use, drainage problems, vegetable gardening and edible landscaping, and more. I’m selective in the clients whom I accept, and no longer consult about certain topics such as lawns, unless it’s in the context of removing them in favor of a productive or resource-conserving replacement, except briefly as incidental to other consultation topics. My comprehensive expertise allows me to provide advice and information on a variety of topics during a given consultation, which provides clients with extra value for the cost of my time.

   My current rates are $150 for any site visit up to one hour, plus $85 per additional hour or for followup offsite work, billed in increments of 15 minutes. For areas beyond Los Angeles to the south, Pasadena to the east, Newhall to the north, and Pacific Palisades to the west, an additional charge for driving time may apply.
